01Who is responsible
Skyhand is an unincorporated research project.

02What we collect
Only what you type into one of the two forms:
- The email address you enter in the notify form. That is the whole of it — one field.
- Your name, email address and message, if you use the contact form. Nothing is pre-filled and nothing is inferred; what reaches us is what you wrote.
Both forms are delivered to us as ordinary email. The site stores nothing in a database, and there is no account to create.
If you write to us by email directly instead, we hold that message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of what was agreed.
Our hosting provider will keep server logs, which normally include your IP address, the page requested and the time of the request. They are kept by the host and we do not read them routinely.
We do not run advertising, we do not build profiles, and nothing here makes an automated decision about you. There is no analytics on this site at all — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no pixel, not even a hit counter. If that ever changes, this paragraph changes with it and the date at the top moves.
03What your browser sends elsewhere
Nothing. Not one byte of this site comes from anywhere but this domain.
That is a deliberate choice rather than an accident. The typeface is served from our own server instead of Google Fonts, which is the usual way a page like this quietly hands your IP address to a third party before you have clicked anything. There is no embedded video, no tag manager, no social widget, no advertising network, no CDN and no font API. Your browser talks to us and to nobody else.
04What we store on your device
No cookies. Two entries in your browser’s local storage, both of which only remember how you like the page to look:
skyhand-scene— whether the illustration shows the room or the field.skyhand-art— whether that illustration is the technical drawing or the render.
Neither identifies you, neither is read by anyone but this site, and neither is ever sent to us. Clearing site data in your browser removes both.
05Why we are allowed to
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, and under the GDPR where it applies to you:
- What you put in either form. Because you asked us to get in touch — consent, which you can withdraw at any time by telling us to.
- Correspondence. Our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us, and in keeping a record of what was said.
- Server logs. Our legitimate interest in keeping the site up and defending it against abuse.
06How long we keep it
- Addresses from the form: until you ask us to remove yours, or until 24 months after our last exchange, whichever comes first.
- Correspondence: 24 months after the thread goes quiet, unless it records something we agreed and need to be able to point to.
- Server logs: kept by our host, typically for a small number of weeks, then rotated out. We do not copy them anywhere.
When a period runs out the data is deleted, not archived.
08Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, hand it over in a portable form, restrict what we do with it, or object to it. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it, and that does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful.
Ask by writing to info@skyhand.co. We answer within 30 days. There is no charge, and we will not ask you to explain why.
If you think we have got it wrong you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or to your own supervisory authority if you are in the EEA.
09How it is protected
The site is served over HTTPS, and over nothing else — plain HTTP is redirected before anything is sent. Form submissions arrive as email in a single mailbox that only the project owner can open, protected by a unique password and a second factor. The site itself keeps no database, so there is no store of addresses to breach: what you send lives in that inbox and nowhere else on our infrastructure.

10Children
This is a preview aimed at people evaluating it for work. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.
11Changes to this notice
When this changes we update the date at the top. If a change actually affects what happens to data we already hold, we will say so to the people it affects rather than relying on you re-reading the page.
